Coveris says RecyclaPaper provides a greener alternative to traditional sandwich skillets
A fully paper-based solution for the food-to-go sector, RecyclaPaper is sustainably sourced and recyclable, featuring a translucent paper window enabling product visibility that offers an alternative to plastic or bio-based film lined formats.
Coveris says RecyclaPaper delivers the same product protection, packaging performance, packing speeds and comparable shelf life and freshness benefits as its existing sandwich packaging.
Will Mercer, business unit paper R&D director at Coveris, says: “We are very proud Coveris has once again been awarded Cartonboard Pack of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards, this time for our innovative RecyclaPaper sandwich skillet.
“Coveris is committed to the development of pioneering food-on-the-move packaging, and it is recognition for the dedication of our colleagues, customers and partners in the supply chain as we strive to a more sustainable future.”
Meanwhile, the UK Packaging Awards Innovation of the Year prize was awarded to Notpla‘s compostable takeaway box, which was manufactured in partnership with Coveris.
In addition, Coveris achieved further recognition at the UK Packaging Awards in the Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year category, with high commendation from the judges for its ultra-lightweight and recyclable tissue paper overwrap film.
